L3 Leadership Podcast: 5 Questions You Should Be Asking Yourself as a Leader

Notes:

5 Questions Leaders Should Continually Be Asking Themselves

1.) What are you doing to grow?

Matthew 25:14-30 – Parable of the Talents
  • Everyone got something
  • Jesus expects us to do something what what He gave us
  • Faithfulness (doing the best you can with what you have)  is the key to giving God a return on His investment
You’ll attract in life and business what you are, not what you want…
“To attract attractive people, you must be attractive. To attract powerful people, you must be powerful. To attract committed people, you must be committed. Instead of going to work on them, you go to work on yourself. If you become, you can attract.” — Jim Rohn
  • Let God be the architect of your growth!
    • What books have you read and/or listened to in the last 6 months?
    • What conferences have you attended?
    • What leaders have you met with?
      • You’re one relationship away from changing your destiny! -Craig Groeschel
2.) Who are you surrounding yourself with?
  • Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. -Proverbs 15:22
    • L3 Mastermind Groups – Go through life together, encourage each other, hold each other accountable, push each other!
      • Who do you have in your life encouraging you?
      • Who do you have in your life stretching you?
      • Who do you have in your life keeping you accountable?
      • Who do you have in your life that will be there when things don’t go well?
3.) Where are you finding your value?

Matthew 7
  • If your value is in anything you can lost, you’re in danger of an identity crisis! – Keith Moore
  • Find your value in the only thing you can never lose, Christ!
    • Book resource: Necessary Endings by Henry Cloud

4.) How are you defining success?

16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. John 15:6
  • John Maxwell in his 40’s: Success means having those closes to me, love and respect me the most!

5.) What are you doing for the Kingdom?

“Build homes, and plan to stay. Plant gardens, and eat the food they produce. Marry and have children. Then find spouses for them so that you may have many grandchildren. Multiply! Do not dwindle away! 7 And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.” -Jeremiah 29:5-7
It doesn’t have to be extraordinary, in fact, I like to say that God uses ordinary people doing ordinary things to make an extraordinary impact!
    • Ministry is not a job, Ministry is Who You Are, Where You Are – Bruce Bickel =
  • How is my business honoring Christ?
  • How can my business fund the Kingdom? Make a difference in the Kingdom?
